10 August 2009: KGM Motor Insurance, a specialist provider of motor insurance products to niche markets today announces the completion of a review of all Scottish postcodes.
The review was instigated as a result of meetings with brokers which agency manager for Scotland, Alexander Connon undertook following his appointment last year. It was conducted by Alexander and underwriter, Shaun Foulds.
Alexander Connon explains: "Particularly in urban centres such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen, regeneration programmes have transformed neighbourhoods and there have also been changes across the country in smaller towns and rural areas. Social change can impact upon motor rates both positively and negatively, so following the feedback from brokers we embarked a comprehensive review and have made adjustments as appropriate to our rates."
Alexander has been with KGM just over a year and is pleased to have had the opportunity to implement this key initiative so early on: "It is really gratifying to be empowered by the company to act on issues that have been identified on the ground and it's important for brokers to know that their concerns are not falling on deaf ears," he continued.
Active Underwriter Colin Hart agrees: "For us having good people across the country with a mandate to implement improvements is crucial. It's as much about bringing the concerns and views of brokers to us as it is about taking KGM to them."
