 An
Introduction to KGM
The syndicate commenced underwriting on 1st January 1957, taking
its name from the initials of the founding underwriter, Kenneth Gordon
McNeil.
The original
offices were in Lloyd’s Avenue, in the City of London. Steady
expansion resulted in four moves, the last in 1986 to our offices
in South Woodford, on the north east outskirts of London, at the
southern end of Epping Forest.
Such is the strength of the syndicate’s reputation at Lloyd’s,
we are one of the few motor syndicates remaining whose underwriting
is still heavily supported by traditional names. The syndicate has
an enviable track record of providing profitable returns for its
capital providers, assuring us of continued financial backing and
for our policyholders a very high level of security. I therefore
consider myself extremely fortunate to have assumed the position
of Active Underwriter for a syndicate of such strong pedigree.
All business is derived via our appointed brokers, supporting the
core products of private car, motorcycle, light commercial vehicle,
specialist vehicle and fleet. We rely entirely upon our broker friends
for our income and their continued support is greatly appreciated.
The syndicate employs experienced people in all departments, ensuring
a quality of service that is hopefully to our brokers and policyholders
satisfaction. Certainly I am often told it is like a breath of fresh
air to talk to people that have an understanding of the business,
as well as the ability to apply common sense when it is called for.
We remain committed to maintaining the high standards that are expected
of us.
