Staff Motor Engineer
Department: Claims
Reporting To: Claims Director
Location: South Woodford
Role Purpose
- To query manage valuation and repair disputes.
- To audit and report performance on outsource providers.
- To liaise directly with claimants in calculating the extent of loss.
- Assist negotiators as required.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist negotiators in the resolution of disputed valuations.
- Liaise with and conduct external audit of suppliers, and report to Claims Management Team.
- Assist with the resolution of complaints involving service levels and quality of individual network repairers.
- Conduct 'in-house' engineers report and conduct external inspections in local area.
- Maintain and report on repair statistics.
- Monitor new repair initiatives and measure savings for the benefit of the syndicate.
- Analyse (and report) salvage returns with a view to maximising future benefit to syndicate, whilst ensuring that leakage in relation to inherited charges, and late clearance issues are minimised.
- Assist in training and development of junior staff and display a professional attitude at all times.
Skills
- Previous experience in motor engineering/motor body shop practices
- Knowledge of technical developments in the motor trade
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
